Thai massage is a modern name given in therapy ever practiced since the time when Buddha came into being. Many have stated that unlike the shallow western forms of massage, Thai massage focused on the body's deepest healing of stress and tension.
The massage focuses on improving pressure point circulation and encourages versatile and improved internal health for the muscles. The treatment under the Thai massage starts with the feet and slowly progresses towards the upper parts of the body finally reaching to the shoulders. The whole body is divided into four positions, and then there are different types of exercise.
Depending on the level of stress, different types of pressure are applied and the massage, based on the earlier Ayurveda, helps balance one's energy. Also, many strokes are applied on the different body parts to release the tension from the various body parts. With the tension and stress released, the therapist puts all the effort into making the body feel better.
